Jawline Filler and Other Tips for a Chiseled Masculine Face

When we consider masculine good looks what comes to mind is a square jawline, prominent chin and youthful cheek area. As we age these strong features start to recede and laxity around the jowls becomes more prominent. In some cases a weak jawline is hereditary, detracting from harmony with other facial features. Whether it’s due to age or genetics, a little dermal filler can help make the face more symmetrical and attractive.

Dermal Filler Less Invasive than Implants

In the past if men wanted  more masculine features then facial implants were the only solution to enhancing their anatomical structures. Recent introduction of more robust and long-lasting dermal fillers such as Juvederm Vycross made it possible to achieve similar results without having to resort to surgery.

Jawline Filler For A More Masculine Face

The most popular placement of dermal filler for men is along the jawline to mimic a chiseled, square shape. By extension, the chin can be augmented as well to give more symmetry and projection to the profile. Typically a product such as Juvederm Voluma or Volift is used to lift and sculpt the lower face along the mandible bone all the way to the ear.

Other areas that can be treated with dermal filler include cheeks, especially if they’re starting to look hollow or prematurely aged. Filler placed in the medial or mid-face can lift the area without adding too much volume and lateral placement along the cheekbone can enhance definition and lift. The brow can also be treated to appear thicker and more elevated to complement work in the lower and mid-face.

How Much Dermal Filler Does it Take?

The number of dermal filler syringes required for facial augmentation can vary greatly depending on the degree of correction or enhancement that’s required. The jawline area alone can take 4-6 syringes and the cheeks additional 2-4. That’s because Juvederm Vycross fillers are typically place under the muscle to create lift rather than injected into soft tissue. Results last anywhere from 12-24 months.
