Anti-Oxidants Protect Your Skin When Sunscreens Don’t

Remember this diagram from science class? Don’t worry if you don’t
What you’re looking at is a spectrum of light from the sun as it hits the earth’s surface. Why is this important to you? Because this image depicts all the sun’s radiation that can damage your skin and make you look old before your time. You wear sunscreen every day so you must be protected you think, right? Yes and no.

Most sunscreens only protect you from Ultraviolet (UV) rays such as UVA and UVB but other types of rays, Infrared radiation for example, can also wreak havoc on your skin in much the same way UV rays do by generating free radicals. To refresh your memory, free radicals are unstable molecules that attack your collagen and elastin, causing your skin to sag and wrinkle.

Topical antioxidants offer a fuller spectrum of protection than sunscreen alone
What does protect your skin from Infrared radiation you ask? Antioxidants. Yes, the same antioxidants that you’re told to eat because they’re good for your health and prevent you from aging prematurely.

Although foods high in antioxidants such as berries and greens have demonstrated some protective effects from photoaging, science tells us that antioxidants need to be applied to the skin in sufficient quantities in order to neutralize free radicals that assault our skin every day.

Healthy skin starts with protected skin
As a cosmetic physician I pride myself on helping my patients look and feel more youthful and attractive. Injectables such as Botox and Juvederm are certainly the mainstay of my practice in keeping smooth and wrinkle-free. But when it comes to overall skin quality and health, I’m a firm believer in the topical use of antioxidants to keep your skin looking firm, hydrated and healthy.

Revolutionary New La Peau Skincare with Antioxidants Now available at St. Clair Cosmetic Clinic
I’m thrilled to introduce a new line of antioxidant skin creams that I personally use myself because I have found them to work better than any other products I’ve ever tried. The line is called La Peau Skincare (meaning “skin” in French).

Consisting of three products: a day cream, a night cream and an eye contour gel, this unique product line helps to neutralize free radicals and stimulate cellular metabolism in order to nourish and regenerate the skin. La Peau is a science-based, therapeutic, hydrating and anti-aging skincare line that’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins, amino-acids and peptides. When used daily La Peau collection of products deliver a healthy dose of protective antioxidants directly into your epidermis. The clinical results are impressive.

Sincerely,

Dr. Nino Kuzmar
