Tighter, Smoother Jawline with Dermal Filler – No Surgery

It’s not uncommon in our late 30’s and early 40’s to notice that our jawline is starting to lose definition and its youthful contours. Jowls start to form and the face takes on a bottom-heavy appearance due to fat pads slipping and migrating downwards. This is the ideal time for intervention and fortunately several non-surgical options are available.

The quickest and least expensive way to correct laxity and aging of the jawline area is with dermal filler such as Juvederm Vycross, which has a specialized family of products to address each specific facial zone. Treating sagging jowls may require injecting a firmer product such as Voluma to lift the cheeks first, followed by contouring around the mandible bone with a softer product such Volift, which can be sculpted and molded into shape.

It’s important to understand that when treating aging of the lower face, even for concerns such as laugh lines and marionette lines, the totality of your facial structures need to be considered.

If the jowls and skin sagging have progressed past the mild to moderate point, a skin tightening procedure such as Profound RF or Sublative Rejuvenation may need to be performed first to address collagen loss before injecting dermal filler. Your cosmetic doctor will advise you on the best course of action by evaluating your skin condition and amount of skin laxity.
